Social Media for beginners By Debbie O'Connor: one of our workshops at the conference

Social Media for beginners:

Facebook?  Twitter? LinkedIn? How on earth do I get started with all this and how does it work?

In June 2010, Debbie O'Connor had a personal Facebook account but had never used twitter or linked in, never blogged and never looked after a website.
Then she took over Motivating Mum in the UK (http://www.motivatingmum.co.uk).  This workshop will take you through step by step how she built the online presence of Motivating Mum over the course of one year, acquiring 8,000 twitter followers(www.twitter.com/motivatingmumuk ), 400 facebook fans
(www.facebook.com/motivatingmumuk) , a successful blog
(www.motivatingmum.co.uk/wp) and a newsletter going out to over 1,000 mums

Each of these subjects could be the topic of a workshop in its own right, but this workshop will touch briefly on each one and show how to get started and  how to build a social media strategy from scratch and link it all together.
